About our Classes

Beginner – 2 (Kids & Adults) for all students who have completed a Beginner – 1 class. Students will continue to learn the basics of going and stopping, adding A-Frame Turn, marching, one foot glides on Center Edge and basic moves around the cones. Students will master the art of stopping before moving onto the next level.

Beginner – 3 (Kids & Adults) for all students who have mastered stopping and one foot glides on a center edge. Includes slalom movements like Cris-cross.
Students will progress to learning to skate backwards, beginning forever crossovers, one-foot glides on outside and inside edges.

Level 4 (Nearly Intermediates) (Kids & Adults) for all students who have mastered skating backwards, and one foot glides on all edges. Movements will occur on arcs and circles. When people say they want to learn to skate, this is the level they want to achieve. Skating is easy and fluid. Students will progress to learning transitions (stepping from forwards to backwards and backwards to forwards while moving), Pivots, Parallel turns. This is the beginning of artistic movement so will include Skater’ Stride and backwards outside edging.

Level 5 & 6 (Kids & Adults) for all students who have begun to enjoy fluid movement while skating on one leg on all edges. This level really defines the Grace on Skates, whether you are an artistic skater or not. Three turns, advanced slalom moves, spins, jumps and combinations are all taught at these levels.
